Autumn Moon® Pear

Autumn Moon® Pear

In 2015, Orchard Direct introduced the Japanese Akizuki pear for experimental cultivation in Laiyang, Shandong Peninsula. We believed that this variety had significant market potential, not only in China but also in the United States. After consulting with our legal team, we successfully registered the trademark Autumn Moon® (Reg.No. 6,088,959) and the 秋月® trademark (Reg.No. 6,045,854). Later, the Green Autumn Moon® trademark was also designated for a Korean pear variety.

Appearance

The Autumn Moon Pear is beautifully round, with a golden-yellow skin that resembles the autumn moon. Each pear typically weighs around 1 pound, with some reaching up to 2 pounds.

Flavor/Texture

The flesh is white, crisp, without stone cells, offering a refreshing, sweet, and juicy taste, with a soluble solid content of approximately 14.5%. It has a fragrant aroma. The small fruit cores make this pear highly edible, with a rate exceeding 95%.

Crown Pear

Crown Pear

Appearance

Crown pears are medium‑to‑large sized fruits with regular oval‑round or near‑oval shapes. The smooth, thin skin features fine, faint lenticels and displays pale golden‑yellow to creamy‑white color at full maturity; subtle light‑red blush may appear on sun‑exposed sides. Flesh inside is clean ivory‑white, with a relatively small central core. Average fruit weight ranges from 250 g to 400 g per piece.

Flavor/Texture

The flesh is fine‑grained, crisp and highly juicy with minimal gritty stone‑cell content. It delivers well‑balanced sweet‑mild tart taste, carrying a light natural honey‑pear aroma. Firm‑crisp texture holds well after harvest and does not turn mushy when ripe, ideal for fresh biting, juicing and fruit platters.

Distinctiveness

As a hybrid‑bred Chinese white‑pear cultivar, Crown Pear ripens roughly 30 days earlier than traditional local pear varieties like Yali and Snow Pear, filling the early‑season premium pear market gap. It combines neat uniform appearance, low‑grit flesh and high‑yield performance. Compared with common Asian pears, it shows higher sweetness and prominent honey notes, and stands out for its smooth nearly‑russet‑free skin and excellent storability for long‑distance shipment.
